Commercial Roofing and Facade Solutions (CRFS) provided fashion and homeware retail giant, Next, with a complete roofing and facade package to complete the extension and full refurbishment of the existing building – the flagship store in Tamworth, which was opened in time for Christmas 2016.
The existing 3000m² roof was over-clad with 0.7mm single skin roof sheets including 180mm of insulation, roof lights and new insulated gutters. All these works will aid the building’s thermal performance for many years to come.
The client decided on Topdek insulated panels from Kingspan for the 1000m rear extension. Topdek is a single component, factory pre-engineered roof deck, comprising of a high performance single ply PVC membrane with insulation and a trapezoidal steel deck that can eliminate the need for valley-hip and boundary wall gutters. This system can be quickly and easily installed with the aid of mechanical lifting equipment through a single-fix installation process.
Corium is a unique brick cladding system that combines the natural beauty of genuine brick with cost-effective fast track installation. The vast range of colours offered was a massive benefit to matching the new extension with the existing building. The Corium system comprises brick slip tiles specially manufactured to fix mechanically to a HPS200 galvanised steel backing section. These profiled lengths are mounted in horizontal rows onto a vertical support system and the brick tiles are simply clipped in place.
TI Aerolite® Granite is a lightweight, 100% natural granite panel that uses fewer natural resources in its manufacture, transport and installation. TI Aerolite® Granite in this case was 20mm thick natural granite reinforced by a fibreglass matting. TI Aerolite® Granite allows you to re-create the traditional stone aesthetic with a simple and fast method of installation, which befits both your creative vision and construction programme.
One key advantage to Topdek is the rapid speed of installation. This can help to reduce the risk of accidents, as less time is spent working at height. It also means that the building is weathertight sooner, allowing internal fit-out and external finishing to commence earlier, minimising delays and the need for multiple trades, therefore, achieving a significant reduction of overall build time and cost.
