Commercial Roofing and Facade Solutions (CRFS) were appointed to the SFS and rainscreen cladding project as part of the school’s brand new £3m sixth form expansion, consisting of a library, a sixth form study room, research area, ICT suites, classrooms and office space.
Kingspan’s Structural Steel Framing System (SFS) is a component-supply, structural, stud facade system commonly used in two main methods of employ; Infill and Oversail. The system consists of C & U shaped studs and tracks, designed on a project specific basis to form the inner leaf of a facade, which is designed and installed to BS5950 and BS8000. The SFS offers time savings of over 60% over blockwork and A ratings in the BRE Green Guide.
The Bauclad® facade is a highly durable, aesthetically appealing, double-sided HPL rainscreen panel, which is available in large panel format to ensure cost effectiveness. The chosen panel offers superior durability, is incredibly scratch and impact-resistant, and won’t be affected by pollutants, including chemicals, mould or fungus. The panel also boasts a Class 0 fire rating and BBA certification, while being easy to clean and maintain, and graffiti and pollution resistant.
Commercial Roofing and Facades successfully completed the works on budget and within the scheduled programme.
From engagement to completion, CRFS have provided a professional and efficient service. The quality of the installation, coupled with the proactive and helpful nature of the site and design team, have been a real plus. I would not hesitate to recommend or use their services again in the future. (Alex Capon, Contract Manager)
